What we Learn

Junior Canadian Rangers develop skills through three core areas of learning: Ranger Skills, Life Skills, and Traditional Skills. These areas are strengthened through collaboration with local community members and partner organizations. Past joint training has included valuable contributions from the Tahsis Volunteer Fire Department, the Tahsis Canadian Coast Guard Station, the Tahsis Literacy Society, the Village of Tahsis, and others. Weekly training is thoughtfully planned to reflect the interests, needs, and upcoming activities of the youth, ensuring they build the confidence and skills necessary to succeed.

Ranger Skills

Traditional Skills

Traditional skills depend on the community and local culture. Some traditional include: Horseback riding, archery, fishing, trapping, storytelling, cooking/preparing traditional foods, and many more.

PHASE

PHASE stands for Promoting Healthy And Safe Experiences.
